Natural Light Not Always A Good Thing?

It’s always nice to get natural light into your house but not when it’s coming through a crack in your foundation wall. The Structure is considered one of the major systems on a home. Sometimes Structural repairs are straightforward and inexpensive and sometimes they a a bigger concern and very costly. I have seen $300 Structural problems and I have seen $100,000 Structural problems. If the opening exceeds 1/4” or if there are signs of shifting or displacement, it may indicate a bigger problem. And by bigger problem I mean hold onto your wallet. In either case, Structural issues need to be addressed because they don’t get better. Even a small crack over time will get worse due to freeze/thaw and pressure on the wall. It’s important to know the difference between big problem and small problem and to know what your buying.
