The video is from a recent inspection on a house that had just been rehabbed. Can’t tell you how many times buyers have told me they didn’t think they needed an inspection because the house they were buying wasn’t that old or had recently been redone. I have seen some good rehabs and some really bad rehabs. The seeping water reminds me of the movies Amityville Horror and The Shining when blood seeps out from behind the walls. Unfortunately, the scariest part of this scenario is going to be the Plumbers bill. Not only will the source of the leak need to be repaired, the wall and tile will have to be torn out to get to it. Not the first thing you want to deal with when you move into your new home. Regardless of the age of a property you should always get an inspection. Buying new construction or newly rehabbed doesn’t mean it’s going to be problem free. Have not seen the perfect house yet. Thanks for stopping by. See you in 2 weeks for another installment of Postcards from the Field!
